Title I

Westminster Elementary School provides a school-wide Title I Program. The emphasis in a Title I school-wide program is on serving all students while improving the academic and social structures of the school by braiding all resources to enhance academic achievement. Title I is part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act authorized under the legislation: Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015.  It provides Federal funds to school districts, including Carroll County, to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on academic achievement standards and academic assessments.  Schools are ranked annually based on the proportion of children, Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5, who qualify for the Free and Reduced Meal program. 

Families can now apply for Free and Reduced priced meals online by visiting the Food Services link.

Title I services are provided through:

  • Family engagement/education
  • Professional development for staff
  • Instructional materials and resources
